Esqe late captn commanding the buckingham volunteer rifle company, by the members of the volnuteer force s. D. Tasmania as a sinceer though inadequate testimonial in acknowledgement of his zealous and liberal support to the volunteer movement novr 1862. The blade, although shows to have been cleaned ni recent years reflecting some old pitting scars, does remain in nice condition.
The fabulous guard is enhanced with an intricately detailed oakleaf pattern and the tsringed bugle and continues to wear much of the original gold wash. The hilt is fishskin covered and is healthy but does show age wear and shrinkage nevertheless, the original twisted wire wrap remains tightly in place. Overall measuring 37 1/2 inches in length.
