Fine Indonesian Short Sword 19Th Century

This is a fantastic example of a sumbawa bima short sword machete which datse from the late 19th century. It is mounted with a well made watered blade that measures 14 3/8 inches in length. The blade remains in very nice original condition with only some minor surface stains. It wears a wonderful carved horn hilt in the image of a grotesque face, which remains very healthy in condition as well.

The beautiful exotic wooden scabbard is also beautifully preserved and wears a simple but lovely carving at the throat. Overall measuirng 20 1/2 inches in length.
